about me.
My name is Samantha Sawyer, but everyone calls me Sam. I was born and raised in Davenport, Washington. Often referred to as the “Gateway to Lake Roosevelt,” much of my design inspiration comes from the colors, cultures, and history of the region. I love to make things.
Follow me on social media to see more of my creations, and feel free to reach out if you have any special requests; I would love to make something for you!
I graduated high school in 2011 and shortly after that was lucky enough to find a job taking portraits of newborns, toddlers, and families. There I was able to learn a lot about portrait photography, customer relations, retail, and set/prop design.
In 2015 I was given the opportunity to join a different company where I was taking school pictures and I was at times traveling to Portland, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Seattle, and Denver. When we weren’t busy with photos I was able to help out with designing elementary school yearbooks for some of the schools we serviced.
In 2018 I gave birth to my son, Thomas Dash, and in June of 2019, I started classes at Full Sail University. Five months before graduation I found my current position at Bernardo Wills as their graphic designer/brand photographer and in July of 2022, I graduated from Full Sail University with my bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design.
The thing about me is that I’m always doing something. If I’m not working, then I’m making something; and if I’m not making something then I’m at the lake.
